Entertainment & Refreshments

The Two Cities Boat Race is a great day for everyone. In the water we have Dragon Boat Racing which is one of the fastest growing and most exciting water sports you can take part in. This event is colourful and exuberant with hundreds of people cheering along their favourite team on the quayside.

After the fun and games of the Dragon Boat Racing be prepared for a nail-biting 500 metre race where the two universities battle it out head-to-head, every metre the culmination of a year’s training to be the best.

We also have plenty of entertainment on land which gives this event a real carnival spirit. This year we will see the Universities of Manchester Cheer and University of Salford Sirens perform a series of chants to support their boat clubs. Playing the day away is Samangra a local samba band, hot food and snacks are sold on the quayside by The University of Manchester FoodOnCampus team and face painters are on hand to help you support your university.
